What is boudoir photography? Boudoir photography is a style that captures intimate and sensual photographs of individuals, usually in lingerie or suggestive poses, to celebrate their beauty and confidence.
Who can have a boudoir photography session? Anyone who wants to feel empowered and embrace their sensuality can have a boudoir session! It is not limited to a specific age, body type, or gender.
How should I prepare for the session? To prepare for a boudoir session, it's important to choose lingerie and outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident. That’s why we have an official personal stylist work with each client to cater to their needs! It's also recommended to get plenty of rest, hydrate well, and avoid getting spray tans or trying new beauty treatments right before the session. Also, make sure to stretch! You’ll be using your back muscles and core a ton during the session, and it can be physically demanding!
Where does the session take place? Boudoir sessions can take place in various settings. We currently use a studio or our exclusive outdoor location which features a gorgeous creek.
Can I bring a friend or partner to the session? While I know our friends and partners can be our biggest hype people, we do not allow a second person at our sessions. There are many reasons for this, but reason number one is that it helps you relax and bond with your photographer. It also means your focus is in the moment, and while friends may have great suggestions, without knowledge of the craft itself, it’s important for us to keep our focus.
Do I need prior modeling experience? No modeling experience is required for a boudoir session. As a professional boudoir photographer, I am skilled in guiding and posing clients. I will provide direction and make you feel comfortable throughout the entire process.
What about hair and makeup? Do I need a professional? A professional hair & makeup artist is KEY! That’s why we include it in all our session fees. They are experienced in creating looks that enhance your features and are tailored to the style of boudoir photography.
How long does a session typically last? Boudoir sessions usually last around 1-2 hours. This timeframe allows for a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere, giving enough time for wardrobe changes, different poses, and any necessary touch-ups.
What happens after the session? After the session, the photographer will carefully select and edit the best images. Our editing process takes about a week per session, and allows us to professionally retouch all your images. When your gallery is ready, we reach out and schedule what’s called a Viewing Session. This is when you’ll see all your images for the first time and fall in love with them!
